Teachers must be prepared to help students master the skills needed to succeed in the 21st century school, college, and workplace. In order to accomplish this, teachers must integrate technology in everyday teaching and learning, and acquire the skills themselves. ESC-20 Instructional Technology offers numerous programs and resources to accomplish the above goals, such as:
Classroom Resources Digital Knowledge Central, PowerMediaPlus, Facts on File, online courses, and more
Professional Resources Research articles, discussion forums, listservs, technology standards, and more
Assessment
For students: Teachers may assess progress in student technology skills by using rubrics, electronic portfolios, and the assessment tools included in the state funded Technology Applications instructional mateirals.
For teachers: Accurate assessment of technology use and implementation may be conducted by taking the Teacher STaR Chart self-assessment annually as required by TEA.
