By understanding how technology can be seamlessly weaved into the curriculum, identifying best practices, creating a vision, increasing expectations, and modeling the use of technology, campus and district administrators lead the path to 21st century teaching and learning.

Leading with Technology Academy

This three-day institute addresses the ISTE Standards for Administrators and covers the following areas:

• Technology standards for students, teachers, facilitators and administrators
• The National Technology Plan, the Texas Long Range Plan for Technology 2006-2020 and the district technology plan
• Analysis of the campus and/or district STaR Chart
• Identification of best practices and assessment of technology integration
• Alignment of the content area and grade level TEKS and the Technology Applications TEKS
• Modeling and promoting technology use at your campus
• Legal issues regarding technology use in today's schools
• Use of handheld computers for administrators (includes one PDA per participant)

Assessment
Campus assessment of readiness and implementation of technology is measured with the Texas STaR Chart. Teacher effective implementation of technology may also be measured with the LoTi (Levels of Technology Implementation) online survey.
