The Texas Administrative Code (TAC), Title 19, Part II, Chapter 110 required that school districts begin implementing the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills September 1, 1998. The Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills identify what our students should know and be able to do at every grade and in every content area.

This framework also provides assessment techniques, instructional activities, related research and connections to the TEKS for each cognitive foundation.
