Achieve Texas
A new education initiative designed to prepare all students for a lifetime of success. It allows ALL students to achieve excellence by preparing them for secondary and postsecondary opportunities, career preparation and advancement, meaningful work, and active citizenship.

Adventures in Education
A nonprofit, public benefit program developed that helps students plan and complete their journey through higher education. By providing a web site and other free resources to students, parents, counselors, and educators, AIE encourages individuals to discover and pursue educational opportunities.

Apply Texas
Provides a centralized location for both Texas and non-Texas students to apply to the many outstanding postsecondary institutions available in Texas.

College Board
A not-for-profit membership association designed to connect students to college success and opportunity. Among its best-known programs are the SAT®, the PSAT/NMSQT®, and the Advanced Placement Program® (AP®).

College for Texans

College Forward
College Forward provides college preparatory services to motivated, economically-disadvantaged students, in order to facilitate their transition to college and make the process exciting and rewarding.

FinAid!
FinAid was established in the fall of 1994 as a public service. This award-winning site has grown into the most comprehensive source of student financial aid information, advice and tools -- on or off the web.

Free Application for Federal Student Aid
Federal Student Aid, an office of the U.S. Department of Education, ensures that all eligible individuals can benefit from federally funded or federally guaranteed financial assistance for education beyond high school.

The Minnie Stevens Piper Foundation Compendium of Texas Colleges and Financial Aid Calendar 2007-2008
The Compendium of Texas Colleges and Financial Aid Calendar was first published on the Comptroller's web site in 1997 as a service to Texas students.

Office of Apprenticeship
The Office of Apprenticeship, is responsible for developing materials and conducting a program of public awareness to secure the adoption of training in skilled occupations and related training policies and practices used by employers, unions, and other organizations; developing policies and plans to enhance opportunities for minority and female participation in skilled training; and coordinating the effective use of Federal, labor, and resources to create a clear training-to-employment corridor for customers of the workforce development system.

Student Paths
Their mission is to help high school students with the transition from high school to their future. A publication designed for students is one of their many resources.

Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board
The THECB was created by the Texas Legislature in 1965 to "provide leadership and coordination for the Texas higher education system to achieve excellence for the college education of Texas students."

TexasMentor makes finding and applying to any private school in Texas a snap.

Texas Scholars
Texas Scholars – High School and Beyond is an initiative of Texas Business and Education Coalition (TBEC). It is an community-based initiative through which volunteers and educators working together motivate students to take a more purposeful approach in high school, and to plan for and work toward a career of their choosing after high school.

University and College Accountability (U-CAN)
National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (NAICU) has developed U-CAN (the University and College Accountability Network), a free, consumer-informed college information Web site. For the first time, institutions of higher education have come together to develop and deliver key college information directly to consumers.

Children's Bereavement Center
CBCST is the only free-standing organization of its kind in the San Antonio and south Texas region that is solely focused on the grief support needs of children, teens and young adults who have suffered the death of a loved one.

The Dougy Center for Grieving Children & Families
The Dougy Center is a safe place for children, teens, young adults and families grieving a death.

Texas Suicide Prevention Program
The Texas Suicide Prevention Council is a group of local suicide prevention
coalitions and statewide agencies that have joined together to implement the
Texas Suicide Prevention Plan.

Focus Adolescent Services
Focus Adolescent Services is a free Internet clearinghouse of information and resources on teen and family issues to help and support families with troubled and at-risk teens.

American School Counselor Association
ASCA supports school counselors' efforts to help students focus on academic, personal/social and career development so they achieve success in school and are prepared to lead fulfilling lives as responsible members of society. 

South Texas Counseling Association
The South Texas Counseling Association, a chapter of the Texas Counseling Association, is an association of professional counselors that provides leadership, service and advocacy and promotes education and ethical standards.

Texas Association for College Admission Counseling
TACAC is a branch of the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC). It provides professional networks, opportunities to enhance your skills, and information to help you counsel your students more effectively.

Texas Counseling Association
TCA is an association of professional counselors that provides leadership, service and advocacy and that promotes education and ethical standards.

Parents

Parents – The Anti-Drug
A great web site for counselors, educators and parents filled with loads of information on drugs, drug use and teenagers. Parents are still the number one “anti-drug” prevention tool for our children.
