The OSHA 501 Trainer Course in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the General Industry setting is intended for CTE Educators (other educators and school staff admitted if space allows, please call for special requests).
This 36 required contact hours of training presents detailed information on how the provisions of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Act may be implemented in the workplace. This training primarily focuses on the basics of OSHA. The course includes an introduction to general industry standards and provides an overview of the requirements of the more frequently referenced standards. Segments of the course cover the rights and responsibilities under the Act, contested citations, record keeping, and voluntary protection programs.
Successful completion of this course qualifies the participant to conduct both a 10-hour and a 30-hour voluntary compliance course for CTE students and enables the instructor to issue OSHA cards (either the 10-hour or the 30-hour card) to student/participants certifying course completion.
Instructor certification must be renewed every three years to remain current.
This four-day workshop is offered in June if enrollment minimums are met.
