Highlights research-based practices and brings them to life with multimedia elements including classroom video and audio vignettes, as well as examples of authentic student work at various levels of literacy development.
Offers teachers and staff developers access to a rich array of assessment, data collection and documentation techniques for early readers. Additionally, teachers can gain a greater understanding of data-driven instruction and its application to their classrooms.
Models ways to enhance communication with parents/caregivers supporting family literacy. Instructional strategies for linguistically diverse learners are provided.
PRIMER B is an online professional development product designed to help all K-2 teachers become more effective literacy teachers. It looks at research-based best practices and demonstrates numerous examples of effective literacy instruction offering teachers and staff developers access to a rich array of teaching practices in the classroom, data dissemination, and assessment techniques for early readers.
PRIMER B fully utilizes current technology through the use of video, audio, interactive surveys and discussions, assessments and the ability of participants to engage with one another. Participants are also awarded 12 hours of CPE credit towards their professional development hours.
