The following are brief descriptions of Title I services available to Title I School Support Teams and Campus Site-Based Decision-Making Teams.
Training and Technical Assistance for SAS Applications
Sessions are scheduled annually and coincide with the release of Title program evaluations. These sessions provide training and technical assistance to district personnel on updates and changes in current year program evaluations and following year Title program applications.
Federal Program Directors' Meetings
The goal of these meetings is to provide district federal program personnel opportunities to network and share the most current federal regulatory issues and guidelines in a manner that impacts federal program administration and that facilitates optimal opportunities for children to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to master the state content and performance standards.
Systematic Dissemination of Information
All relevant Title I information is disseminated to Title I campuses through:
Cluster meetings
Federal program director meetings
Direct mailings, e-mails, and/or faxes to all district contacts
Direct mailings and/or faxes to Title I campuses
Regional Cluster Meetings
Sessions are conducted for district school support teams and/or campus site based teams for the purpose of assisting and working cooperatively with schools to make recommendations as schoolwide program plans or school improvement plans are developed and implemented.
School Improvement Conference
The purpose of this conference is to recognize Title I Distinguished schools and provide opportunities for district support teams and/or campus site-based teams to share and learn about current research on the best practices, comprehensive school reform and factors that impact districts and campuses striving to implement a continuous improvement model.
On-site Campus Technical Assistance
Each District in Region 20 is assigned an ESC-20 staff person that serves as the district Title I contact. The Title I contact list is distributed to federal program directors and mailed to Title I campus principals in each district. District contacts are available to any Title I campus (schoolwide or targeted assistance) as a resource for any needed technical assistance.
Distinguished Educators Initiative and Workshops
The focus of this initiative is to recognize, identify and facilitate the utilization of exemplary educators who are:
Knowledgeable about successful schoolwide projects and/or comprehensive school reform
Knowledgeable about research practices on teaching and learning, particularly about strategies for improving the educational opportunities for low achieving students, so that their skills, knowledge, and expertise can be applied to the improvement of student performance on Title I campuses.
These workshops are listed in the Region 20 Staff Development catalog and are offered at no cost to district school support teams, campus site based teams, and faculties from Title I school-wide or target assistance campus. The focus of these workshops will center on campus improvement.
