Administrative and Instructional Services (AIS) is dedicated to serving the educational community to ensure that challenging Texas school system standards and requirements are met. A comprehensive range of quality products and support services are provided through leadership, professional development and technical assistance activities which ultimately prepare students for academic excellence and post-secondary expectations.
Client services include accountability and compliance for federal, state, and local programs, student assessment, and finance; curriculum, instruction and assessment development, alignment, and implementation; child and family services, including Head Start, child nutrition, and adult education; alternative certification programs for superintendents, administrators, and teachers; instructional and educational technology initiatives, including content-related sessions via web access and video conferencing; leadership development and appraisal; customized grant and program evaluations; and specialized support services for other school personnel such as nurses, librarians, and counselors.AIS is also involved with numerous large-scale curriculum initiatives such as the Texas Science Technology Engineering Mathematics (TSTEM), Texas High School Project, CSCOPE (a comprehensive curriculum) and Project Getting Results EducatingAdults in Texas (GREAT).
Business and Human Resource Services (BHRS) offers unique, professional services and innovative solutions that assist school districts and charter schools to maintain fiscal, organizational and operational economy and efficiency.
State-of-the-art meeting room rentals with a full range of audiovisual and multi-media capabilities are available for educational and business clients, including multi-purpose conference rooms and technology labs.
Business Financial Services are in full compliance with the TEA's Financial Accountability System Resource Guide and are designed to maximize efficiency, reduce operating costs, and minimize the need for additional personnel in the areas of accounting, finance, payroll and human resources.
The ESC-20 Business Services Cooperative provides professional document reproduction and finishing services at a fraction of the cost due to ESC-20's competitive bid process.
Living Science Cooperative offers an array of quality living specimens for classroom use delivered directly to school districts in four regional service centers.
Additional services include Purchasing Cooperative services of general, educational, and USDA food purchasing/processing items; drug and alcohol testing; bus driver training; and ESC-20 van delivery services ofmedia items, living/sciencematerials, Texas Library Connection inter-library items, and Center documents to districts and campuses. The ESC-20 Braille Services provides quality transcription and production of books and publications across Texas and the United States.
Information Technology (IT) offers a wide range of services including video conferencing, network support, technical training certification, and support. IT also serves as the internet service provider to over 30 school districts in the Region 20 area. In addition, consulting and support personnel provide software and Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) training and assistance at both regional and state levels. IT is the headquarters and fiscal agent for the Texas Computer Cooperative (TCC) which develops comprehensive business and student administrative software systems, including an integrated internet-based grade book and parent access portal. The software is used in over 850 school districts, charter schools and private schools throughout Texas.
