2008 ESC-20 Regional Superintendent of the Year Named
Dr. Dan Troxell of Kerrville ISD was named Superintendent of the Year (SOTY) by the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) on September 28, 2008. Since 1984, the SOTY program has recognized exemplary superintendents for excellence and achievement in educational leadership. TASA created the School Board Awards Program in 1971 to recognize school boards whose dedication and ethical service have made a positive impact on the children of Texas. This is an excellent opportunity to reward the hard-working, dedicated board members with the recognition they deserve.
The criteria emphasize evidence of support for educational performance improvement. The Northside nomination has been forwarded to the TASA State Selection Committee for the statewide Texas’ Outstanding School Board competition.
All regional and honor boards are recognized at the TASA/TASB Convention in September—the biggest gathering of educational leaders in the state!
